Chocolate in a Fish Bowl

A bizarre day gives birth to a bizarre night,
As I sit here to recollect my thoughts, maybe meditate…
Little did I know that mine own father might,
Cause my mind to very strangely levitate!
In his office I find a fish bowl with chocolate shut tight,
And ponder, I must, and a poem on it initiate.
Neither the logic nor the sense behind it can I cite-
For better comprehension, let alone an attempt to substantiate.
I look around me and find that this spectacle looks right,
And about its’ wrongness I hopelessly attempt to ruminate.
Dad please understand I do not write this in spite,
But how are the fish bowl and chocolate cognate?
Maybe I should put this perspective to light-
That there is nothing here for me to so vehemently prevaricate!

Lines at 1:00 a.m.

A balanced day it has been,
And I wonder what to write,
For my heart is certainly keen-
But my mind is quite uptight.

These words appear on a screen,
Almost glaring in black and white,
I tell you it’s almost as obscene
As seeing a fat man in tights.
